
Ryan Murtfeldt is a music teacher, coach, improviser, and life-long lover of creative music. He has a Masters in Music Education and 19 years experience teaching music to folks of all ages. His passion is seeking freedom thru music and sharing that with others.
B.S. in Jazz Studies and Journalism from Indiana University
M.A. in Music Education from the University of Washington
Certified Whole Person Coach, trained at the Baraka Institute in Portland, Oregon
Before becoming a teacher, Ryan had lots of fun exploring the world and working as a professional musician. He played saxophone, flute, and clarinet on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, traveled to Peru and Lithuania studying traditional flute music, and worked as an environmental campaign director for the State PIRGs.
Ryan has been the music and band director (Grades 4-8) at the White Salmon Schools for the past 12 years, and is also an avid metal-worker, gardener, and hiker.
