Music is more than just reading notes and rhythms. Let’s bring fun, creativity, and self-expression back into our classes and our lives! In this interactive-jam workshop you'll learn to help kids find their own voice, listen more deeply, and turn music into a creative game. So bring your instrument or use one of ours, and join us for a fun hour of improvisation.

Our brains are hardwired to find problems. However, studies show that by focusing on the positives, we improve productivity, increase energy and passion, and reduce our risk of burning out. In this workshop staff practice noticing and sharing the little things that go well each day, reflect on larger wins from the semester/year, and learn techniques for ongoing practice (journals & mindmaps).

Measuring (and proving) student learning is a big source of frustration and stress for lots of teachers, but I believe SLGs are actually a great opportunity for us. They are a chance to shine a light on the awesome work we already do with our kids, and on the amazing benefits kids get from being in our classrooms. Celebrating our successes with each other is how we sustain ourselves and avoid burnout.

Staff begin by examining the small and large things that are going well in their classrooms. Next, they ask the questions of themselves, "What did I do to make that happen? What unique talents and gifts was I leveraging?" And to complete the workshop, staff create courageous goals to bring more of their talents and gifts into their classrooms and into the lives of kids.
